MAXSAN Fitness Academy Course Prospectus
The name MAXSAN needs no introduction. Its a name which is synonym to fitness for many in goa. What started as a passion for most of us, MAXSAN Fitness Hub was inaugurated in 2007 in Margao, GOA. A state of the art facility equipped with the best infrastructure in terms of strength and cardio equipments. A perfect place to distress for stressed executives coupled with benefits of health. A stop-gap arrangement for tourist so they don’t miss their workouts during travel. Within a short period we realized the place did not have talent to match up to its much boasted infrastructure. Then with keen foresight and planning an idea of setting up of an academy conceptualized, where knowledge and ethics would form the back bone of the organization. An academy where every individual keen in embarking on a journey into the up coming industry of health and fitness would be provided a stepping stone. Our efforts we realized made us the pioneer in the industry of fitness to set norms of professionalism and service.

It currently offers the below courses in fitness. With many more courses in the pipe line, it is set to change the mind set of people towards fitness in GOA.
Course 1: Fitness Trainer’s course
The course equips the individual to be able to understand the language of fitness more scientifically. It teaches basic anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, weight training principles and many more scientific aspects which go into making a good trainer. To be able to identify clients needs and design a work out accordingly.
Duration: 45 days (3 times a week)
Fees: Rs. 6000
PS:
The students can gain practical experience by doing internship on the gym floor. Those marks will be added to the practical exam grading.
FITNESS TRAINERS COURSE SYLLABUS
TOTAL TURNS: 10 COURSE DURATION: 8 Weeks
1. Introduction to Anatomy, Physiology and Kinesiology Day 1/week 1
2. Basic medical conditions, fitness testing and introduction to weight training Day 2/week 1
3. Practical work outs starting with major muscle groups and moving to smaller muscle groups. Back and biceps Day 3/week 1
4. Chest shoulders and triceps Day 4/week 1
5. legs, lower back and calves Day 5/week 1
6. Practical sessions Day 6/ Day 7/ Day 8/week 2
7. Forms and assessment Day 9/week 5
8. Scheduling and importance of flexibility Day 10/week 5
9. Internship at the gym for 2 weeks alternate days/ week 6
10. Theory exam Day 11/ week 8
11. Practical exam Day 12/week 8

Course 2: Group Aerobics Trainer’s course
The course teaches the fundamentals of group training. Low and high impact aerobics, step and floor conditioning classes. It includes systematic training pattern and teaches how to devise blocks and group different exercise variations, where by making it an effective class. Anatomy, physiology and kinesiology is included in the syllabus.
Duration: 30 days (3 times a week, alternate weeks)
Fees: Rs. 6000

GROUP TRAINERS COURSE
TOTAL TURNS:8 COURSE DURATION: 4 Weeks
(2 Classes a week)

2. Understanding music, introduction to aerobics and its variations Day 2/week1
3. Introduction to cueing, controlling a class and practice of basic steps Day 3/week 2
4. Practical step training with proper choreography Day 4/week 1
5. Practical low impact with proper choreography and Question and answer session Day 5/week 3
6. Theory and practical about conducting a variation class with dyna bands, tubeing and swiss balls. Day 6/week 3
7. Internship at the gym one week

Course 3: Basic Nutrition and Supplementation
Eating right is an art. Nutrition compliments all the efforts one put in the work out. As an instructor the member looks up for guidance and tips on nutrition. Proper guidance and suggestion will make the different for the client in achieving the desired results and enhancing your value as a trainer.
This course equips you with the basic know how and latest supplements present in the market.
Duration: 30 days (2 times a week)

SHORT COURSE IN BASIC NUTRITION

(2 Classes a week, 1 hour each )

Course 4: Massage therapy for pain management and recovery
Today the importance of massage is recognized by health institutes all over the world and is included as alternative treatment. Recovery is very important in preventing injuries and improving performance and achieving ones goal. A proper scientific massage executed in the right manner will make all the difference. The course teaches the Sports Swedish massage and basic pain management techniques.
Duration: 30 days (3 times a week, alternate weeks)

MASSAGE THERAPY FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT AND RECOVERY
TOTAL TURNS:7 COURSE DURATION: 5 Weeks
(3 Classes a week on alternate week, for 3 hrs each)
